Vincent "V" Martin

Mr. Vincent “V” Martin, age 75 of Harriman, TN passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge, TN. He was born June 29, 1949, in Harriman, TN. Affectionately known by family and friends as “V” or “The Veester”, he was a member of New Century United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #232, both in Harriman. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam War where he served as a Paratrooper. Before retirement, he had worked for Acme Block Company in Harriman, Tennessee Valley Authority, several construction jobs in Texas and Tennessee, and various other jobs. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Neal Martin; father, Madison Martin; grandparents, Charlie & Laurietta Neal; and sister, Gwendolyn Martin Hollowell.

Granddaughters: Tiquasha Barton, Kayleeana Massengal, Ariana Inma, and Raelynna Inman

Grandson: Quadorein Barton

Brothers: Narvel Martin (Mary), Eugene “Gene” Martin (Cheryl), 

Sisters: Imogene Kirkpatrick (Charles), Barbara Crawford, Nell Brown, Jenice Brown (Joe), Cheryl Carter (Greg)

Loving Stepmother: Bernice Martin

A host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Pastor Willie Gallaher officiating and Pastor Rev. Gary Atwater, eulogist. Private interment will be held in the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood, Tennessee is serving the family of Mr. Vincent “V” Martin.
