Ralph Nelson Sweeney passed away on Sunday, June 13th, 2021. He was born on July 28th, 1932, in Montgomery County, Virginia, son of the late Allan C. Sweeney and Mildred Beasley Sweeney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ralph N. Sweeney, Jr., and siblings Ruby Sweeney, Cecil Sweeney, Nancy Garbesi, Ida Lawrence, and Eloise McCowan. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from General Motors Institute and a master’s in business management from Central Michigan University. He served 33 years with General Motors and was founder and president of Mastertech Coatings in Plymouth, Michigan from which he retired in 1999. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Most importantly, he was a loving family man, an engineer and a tinkerer. He was a living example of how to be generous of spirit, a life-long learner, and a person of integrity and honor. His legacy will be all of those in whom he instilled these important values. He is survived by:

Cremation arrangements have been made and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Ralph Nelson Sweeney.
