Mr. Paul Wayne Jackson Sr., age 77, Kingston, TN, passed away on August 17, 2024. Paul Wayne Jackson Sr. was born in Greasy Creek, (Harlan County), Kentucky on June 22,1947 to Raleigh Jackson and Thelma Mae Jackson.

During Paul’s life, times were tough. Living in a small rural area of Kentucky meant that he was always working on the farm or helping his parents around the house. As time went on, Paul acquired his siblings to help him and his parents around the house tending to livestock, harvesting food, and many other chores. Paul was very proud to be a big brother to his four siblings, and often talked about how he would love to see his home in Kentucky like it was 6 decades ago with all of the people that had come and gone during that time.

Paul, proudly served in the United States Navy and was a Navy Seabee “Can Do!” during the Vietnam War and received rank of E-4 Petty Officer Second Class. He would always talk to his family about his service with the Seabees including the many memories and friends he made along the way.

Paul was also a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local # 917 in Knoxville, Tennessee for over 45 years. Recently in 2023, he received his 45-years of service pin. He was very proud to be in the union, and he often talked about how blessed he was to have such amazing work family and memories during his 45 years at locations such as K-25, BNFL, Bull Run, Kingston Steam Plant and many more.

Paul attended the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Kingston, Tennessee along with his family. He was a Mason and Shriner, being a member of Nolen Masonic Lodge # 806 F. & A.M. in Bledsoe, Kentucky.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents Raleigh Jackson and Thelma Mae Jackson.
