Patricia Jo Wakefield

Patricia Jo Wakefield, age 70, of Oakdale, Tennessee passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Roane Medical Center. She loved horseback riding and showed horses in her young age and into her adult life. She enjoyed working on the farm and taking in the outdoors. She was of strong Baptist faith and attended the New Life Baptist Church in Harriman, Tennessee. She felt such a strong bond with the land she grew up on and lived. Her ties to it shaped her life so much. Her love for animals drove her to care for many over the years. Her life was filled with the love of animals of all kinds. She felt the happiest taking care of those animals God gave her to care for. Tricia loved being with her friends that she had made over the years and they meant so much to her. Her friends were such a blessing in her life, and she loved them all so much. She is preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents: Joseph Spence Wakefield and Dorothy Marie (Taylor) Wakefield; her sister: Barbara Ann Gamble Axmacher; brother: George “Dan” Daniel Gamble; and her niece: Kellie Denise Branson Clark. She is survived by:

Great-nieces and Nephew: Janna Marie Axmacher and Anise Alayne Axmacher; Krystal Hicks and Tiffani Arwood; Jessica Ruppe and Danielle Reynolds; and Dalton Briley.

The family will have a public visitation on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 6:00 pm- 7:00 pm at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood, Tennessee then cremation arrangements have been made to follow. The family is planning to have a memorial service at a  later date in either March 2021 or April 2021 to celebrate Tricia’s life. Condolences can be sent to James Axmacher at 3712 Boyd Walter Lane, Knoxville, TN 37931 or to Danna Axmachers facebook page via messenger.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to any animal shelter of your choice in Patricia’s name and if you care to do so the family would like a card or notification that you have made a donation so they can thank you personally.
