Lolita Shannon Daugherty was born on July 11, 1932. She passed from this earth on March 3, 2020, to be with her Lord and Savior. Lolita lost her husband on January 4, 2020. She always said she wanted them to go together or close together and they did. Lolita was a founding member of the Star of Hope Chapel on Flat Fork Road in Wartburg and was an active servant of her Lord Jesus Christ. If anyone received a card from the church, it was most likely sent by Lolita. She loved sending cards and touching the life of others. She worked at Red Kap in Harriman for 15 years. She loved her children and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah Russell and Jessie Elizabeth Shannon; husband, Robert “Bob” Eugene Daugherty; sisters, Minnie Ann Armes and Sue Mahaney; brothers, Clarence Shannon and Tom Shannon. She is survived by her three sons, Gary Daugherty (Donna), Randy Daugherty (Robin – deceased), and Darrel Daugherty (Gloria); three grandchildren Kevin Daugherty (Valerie), Sara Potter (Chad), and Kaitlyn Warriner (Quinton); five great-grandchildren Kayden and Connor Daugherty, Mason and Jaxon Potter, and Kai Warriner; sisters Juanita Armes (Foye) and Peggy Budnik; brother Bill Shannon (Nancy); and a host of nieces, nephews, special friends, and her loving dog, Susie. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 8, 2020, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor and son Darrel Daugherty officiating. A graveside service will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Star of Hope Chapel, P.O. Box 1651, Harriman, TN 37748. Evans Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
