Mrs. Doris Mitchell Bear

Mrs. Doris Mitchell Bear, age 78, a life-long resident of Rockwood, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the Signature Healthcare Center in Rockwood. She was born April 29, 1942 in Rockwood, Tennessee. Doris was a member of the Rockwood High School Class of 1960.  She was a member of the Rockwood Church of Christ for many years where she served as a Deacon’s wife and was involved in teaching bible classes and benevolence for the church and community.  Doris worked for many years in the cafeteria at Ridgeview Elementary School in Rockwood and had previously worked in Central Supply Services at the former Chamberlain Memorial Hospital.  Doris also assisted her husband Bobby with the operation of Bear Electric performing the bookkeeping for many years. She loved to read, garden (pull weeds), clean, and listen to Rod Stewart and country music.  In her early years she enjoyed swimming and taught all of her children to swim. Doris was very diligent in reading and studying the Bible, worshipping, and strove to instill Christian values in her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a loyal friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Iry Mitchell and Geneva Verla Reeves Mitchell; and her husband, Bobby Lester Bear.

Daughters & Sons-in-law:           Angie & Eric Rodgers of Louisville, TN

                                                Kristie & Eddie Ashbrook of Rockwood, TN

Grandchildren & Spouses:         Brittney Lawson (Cameron), Alex Bear, Jessica Frabotta (Jason), Emily Rodgers, Olivia Rodgers, and Aaron Rodgers

Great Grandchildren:                 Aubrey Lawson and Chance Lawson

And many other special Cousins and Friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the Evans Mortuary. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 12:00 noon from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Bro. Roger Carter officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood, Tennessee.
