Imogene "Jean" Fay Bullington

Imogene Fay “Jean” Bullington, of Harriman, Tennessee, known affectionately as “Mam” by her family, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and most recently, a great-great-grandmother, during her 94 years on earth. She passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025.

Born on October 15, 1930, in Rockwood, TN to Raymond & Lona Raulston, she was the oldest of seven children: Maxine, Charlene, Betty, Bob, Jim, and William, with all her younger siblings and parents preceding her in passing. She was the loving wife of Kenneth Elwood “Jack” Bullington, who also preceded her in passing. 

Imogene lived a life always surrounded by her family. She was an exceptional cook, known for her frequent Sunday lunches with a house full of family and friends. She lived a life deeply rooted in her family and taking care of them. Her home was open to friends and family, and if you were there, you would certainly never leave hungry. She hosted every holiday for her large family, and even cooked several days a week at dinner time- at 5:00, we knew it was dinner time at Mam’s. Her love language was feeding those she loved, and she loved us all so well. 

She is survived by her son, Rickey (Edna) Bullington, and her daughter, Debra “Debbie” Cardinael, and preceded in passing by her youngest son, Jack Kenneth “Kenny” Bullington. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Jason Bullington and Eric (Sarah) Bullington (Rickey & Edna), and Amber Zimmerman and Kristin Walker (Debbie). Mam adored her great-grandchildren, who were all very close to her, Darion, Skotti, Shandi, & Riley Bullington (Jason), Kylie, Abby, & Ben Bullington (Eric & Sarah), Jonas & Audrey Zimmerman (Amber), and Robert & Kendall Walker (Kristin); and most recently her great-great-granddaughter, Arabella Rosenbalm (Shandi); and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary. Family and friends will meet for Graveside services and interment on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, Tennessee.
