Howard Eugene Watson

Mr. Howard Eugene Watson, age 87, of Denver, CO passed away on July 7, 2024. He was born in Rockwood, TN on January 3, 1937. Howard graduated from Rockwood High School. He then attended the University of Tennessee graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Howard went to work for the Bureau of Reclamation first moving to Wyoming then settling in Denver, Colorado. He retired from the Bureau after 36 years. Howard’s work focused on hydroelectric power plants and transmission lines located throughout the western states. His work at the bureau on personal protective grounding helped protect lineman as they worked to install and maintain high power transmission lines. 

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Albert and Ruby Watson, and sister Helen (Joanne) Watson. 

Howard is survived by his sister, Sandra Watson of Knoxville, TN, three children, Keith Watson of Finksburg, MD, Kelly Arter and her husband James Arter of Highlands Ranch, CO, Kent Watson of Lake Oswego, OR and six grandchildren (three boys and three girls). 

The family will have an internment of Howard Watson’s ashes scheduled for Monday, October 21, 2024, at Oak Grove Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
