Diamantis "Danny" Sevastakis

Diamantis “Danny” Sevastakis passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 3, 2024 at the age of 93 surrounded by family.

He is preceded in death by his wife Stamatia "Stella" and 7 siblings. He is survived by his four children Aretta Swanson (spouse Michael), Sylvia Thoman (spouse Chris), John Asimou (spouse Stacey), and Angela Ginsburg (partner Tom). He leaves behind family he loved deeply including grandchildren Amanda, Danielle, Bryan, Brandon, Christian, Adrian, Stephanie, and Danny; several great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his dear friends Jodi Foutz and George Asser, whom he loved like his own children.

Danny emigrated from Samos, Greece to the Cleveland, Ohio area and proudly became a US citizen in 1977. As a young man in Greece, he designed and made custom shoes. He went on to serve in the Greek Merchant Marines and traveled the world. During his career he worked as a carpenter, draftsman, home builder and restaurant owner. He truly was a "jack of all trades" and could fix anything.

He was loved by all for his humor, generosity, compassion and genuine desire to help others. He lived a full and happy life despite the many hardships he endured.

During the last months of his life, Danny lived on a lake in Tennessee with his daughter Aretta and son-in-law Mike. He enjoyed boat rides, sitting outside and watching wildlife on the lake, working in his garden and watching football in the man cave with Mike. Days before his death, he was able to experience a beautiful sunrise over the lake.

A private Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date with his immediate family. Evans Mortuary is proudly serving the family of Mr. Diamantis "Danny" Sevastakis.
