Dawn E. Hood

Mrs. Dawn E. Hood, age 86 of Chattanooga, formerly of Rockwood, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Hospice Care Center of Chattanooga with her family by her side. She was born on September 17^th, 1934 in Harriman, TN to Charles Elmer & Linda Edwards. She was a member of the Roane County Retired Teachers and taught at Rockwood High School for many years. She was a graduate of East Tennessee State University and later earned her master’s degree at the University of Tennessee. She was a beloved mother and teacher to so many people. Mrs. Hood was also a very active person in the Rockwood and Roane County Community. She is preceded in death by her husband: Bryan Hood, and parents: Charles Elmer Edwards & Linda Rose Edwards; Sisters: Hope Edwards King & her husband Charles “Rusty”, Ellen “Susie” Edwards Houser & husband Leland; Brothers: Charles Edwards & Max Edwards. She is survived by:

Grandchildren:                 Holt Kirk of Ooltewah, TN

                                                Annalise Kirk of Ooltewah, TN

And several brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 5^th, 2021 from 1:00-2:30 pm at the Rockwood United Methodist Church. Funeral service will follow at approximately 2:30 pm with Rev. Sam Reese and Bro. Keith Knight officiating. Graveside and interment service will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mrs. Dawn E. Hood.
