Daniel Lee Houston

Daniel Lee Houston, age 76, entered into the arms of Jesus on November 14, 2024, at home, surrounded by family and friends. Dan was born on January 28, 1948, in Maryville and since then has been a lifelong resident of Rockwood.

Danny entered the Navy in 1969, and spet three and a half years as a sailor, one of which was in Vietnam. When he returned home and upon finishing college, he began to work at the TVA, and on to the Dept. of Energy from which he retired.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockwood where he served as a deacon chair member, RA's and volunteered with the youth.

He is preceded in death by his parents: John and Eula Houston; sister: Deborah Wright; and grandparents. He is survived by:

Wife of 56 years: Martha Houston

Daughter: Alicia (Tommy) Reed

His cherished granddaughters: Peyton & Ellie Reed

along with many other special family members and friends

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm ET with Bro. Ben McNees & Pastor Drew Stockton officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Roane County Military Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Per his wishes, cremation arrangements have been made. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Rockwood renovation fund. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Daniel Lee Houston.
