Opal Mae Waldo Thompson, 76, of Rockwood, Tennessee, passed away on April 20, 2016. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Rockwood Tennessee. Opal was a dedicated employee to Rocky Top Markets for 35 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She meant so much too so many: a second mother, a sympathetic ear, a first boss and mentor, and a loyal friend. She embraced her community with love and support. She lived life with a sense of humor. Anyone who was so blessed to know her will surely agree that she was one of the strongest women they’d ever known. She is preceded in death by Parents: Frank and Eunice Waldo, In-laws: Jessie and Mildred Thompson, Brothers: Dock and J. E. Waldo.
She is survived by her Son, Keith Thompson and his wife Missy. Her daughter Kim Arnette and husband Jerry. Grandchildren: Dakota and Elijah Thompson, Keifer and Taylor Arnette. Sister-in- laws: Martha Thompson, Mary Gooch (Mike), and Ruth Waldo. Brother in Law: Leslie Thompson (Pam).
Arrangements are as Follows: Saturday, April 23, 2016 in the Chapel of Evans Mortuary, Family will receive Friends from 12:00noon – 2:00pm, Funeral will be at 2:00pm with Rev. Marty Shadoan and Bro. Bud Strader officiating. Interment will follow in the Glen Alice Cemetery in Rockwood, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Building Fund, for First Baptist Church of Rockwood, P.O. Box 54, Rockwood, Tennessee 37854.
