Mrs. Sarah Floy “Flo” Bowman, age 85, a resident of Rockwood, Tennessee passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the Roane Medical Center, Harriman, Tennessee. She was born August 15, 1930 in Overton County, Tennessee. Mrs. Bowman attended the Asbury Chapel United Methodist Church in Rockwood. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, having served with numerous doctors in the area for many years and also at the former Chamberlain Memorial Hospital in Rockwood. Mrs. Bowman was also a dedicated life and business partner with her husband Ray in the welding supply businesses of Bowman Welding and Bowman Oxygen in Rockwood. Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren and she always enjoyed helping and caring for others. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lester Ray Bowman, whom she married in April 1950. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas Roberson and Susie Elizabeth Ashburn Roberson; brothers, Fred Roberson, Odis Roberson, Kerbit Roberson; and sisters, Thelma Roberson, Mabel Harper, Thelan Roberson, and Lela Ann Roberson.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Paul Johnston and Rev. Sam Reese officiating. Committal services and interment will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Rockwood, Tennessee.
