Marguerite H. Bannon of Kingston, Tennessee passed away on October 31, 2015 at the age of 98.
Marguerite was a native of Jacksonville, Florida where after surviving the Great Depression, she attended Landon High School and excelled in Track and Field holding the school record for the girl’s high jump. Following graduation, she went to work at Stanley Left Motors where she met Henry whom she later married.
During the early 1940’s she and Henry moved to Atlanta and worked toward the war effort at the Atlanta General Depot. Marguerite later joined the U.S. Forest Service and remained in government service until retiring in 1979 and relocating to Kingston, Tennessee. She was an avid traveler. Marguerite is preceded in death by her husband; Henry and her daughter; Marguerite Elizabeth “Bette”, brother; Fred, sister; Willie Mae.
Marguerite leaves her son Harry and her daughter-in-law Barbara and their two children Terry and Eric.
Two grandchildren Scott and Laura.
Family will receive Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the Evans Mortuary from 6:00-8:00pm. Graveside service will be Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 2:00pm in the Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia with Dr. A.H. Hugh McDonald officiating.
