Mrs. Mackaleen Ellis “Mackie” Holloway, age 87, of Rockwood, Tennessee left the constraints of Earth to experience the freedom of Heaven on December 14, 2013. She was born on a farm in Oneida, Tennessee on April 24, 1926 to Luman Roe and Rachel Duncan Ellis. At the age of 40 and with 5 children, she returned to school to become a nurse. She loved the medical profession and her decades of service at Harriman Hospital. Her children fondly remember her saying: “The day you fail to learn something new is the day you die.” After her retirement at the age of 70, she enjoyed gardening and feeding her birds. One of the highlights of her life was her baptism in the River Jordan where she had traveled with friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockwood, Tennessee. Mrs. Holloway was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Thomas Franklin “Frank” Holloway II; Three Sons: Michael Eugene, Thomas Franklin “Tommy” III, and David Mark; Brothers: Leon West, Hurstle Ellis; Sisters: Artemia Duncan and Juanita Pike.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory:

Pearce Thomas Coffield, Kimberly Joy Cano
Great-Grandchildren: Anaston Hope Dill and Adalyn Faith Dill, Olivia Diane Zinni
Brother: Costo Ellis of Florence, Kentucky
Special Friend: Shelby Ellis, Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins
Family will receive Friends on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 1:00 pm to 3:00pm in the Chapel of Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm with Dr. Jim Coffield, of the Reformed Theological Seminary in Oviedo, Florida, officiating. Mrs. Holloway’s favorite candy bars “Milky Way” will be available to all who attend. Concluding services and Interment will be private at a later date. The Family requests that in lieu of Flowers, to buy a needy child a Christmas gift or give to your favorite charity in memory of Mrs. Holloway. The family asks that you spend time with your own family, experiencing laughter and expressing affection during this Christmas Season.
