Mrs. Bonnie Jean Jordan Davison was born to the late Theodore R. Jordan, Sr. and Henrietta Lang Jordan on May 30, 1930 in Jasper County, Mississippi. She departed this life early Sunday morning, August 23, 2015 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband John Davison Sr.; Sons: John Davison Jr. and Robert Davison; Sisters: Eunice Davidson, Mary McGee, Mildred Ewing; Brothers: Henry Jordan and Theodore “Sonny” Jordan Jr.
She joined the First Baptist Church at an early age, and later in life she joined Speights Chapel A.M.E Zion Church where she served as an usher and a deaconess. She also served on the Roane County Community Usher Board. She attended and graduated from Campbell High School in Rockwood, TN, Class of 1949. She graduated from nursing school at Chamberlain Memorial Hospital in 1961 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was also licensed and practiced in the state of Illinois and Indiana. She was a substitute teacher for the Roane County School Systems for many years. She enjoyed cooking, and was famous for her fried chicken. She loved ironing, and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She was a caregiver for her family and enjoyed playing tennis. She also loved to travel with her children and grandchildren. She was a god-fearing woman and loved attending church.
She leaves to cherish many loving memories her two loving, and supportive daughters Stephanie Floyd and Alice (Eddie Sr.) Chatman both of Rockwood , TN; Grandchildren: Sharon (Shawn) Collier, Murfreesboro, TN; Jason Bohannon, Cookville, TN; Eddie Chatman Jr, Rockwood, TN; Shayla (Levar) Brown, Chattanooga, TN; Ta’Shayna Davison, Harriman, TN; Reggie Chatman, Knoxville, TN; Allison (Damien) Pearson, Chattanooga, TN; Tara Frazier, Knoxville, TN; Travis Frazier, Knoxville, TN; Ashley Eskridge, Nashville, TN; and Jordon Hardy, Oak Ridge, TN; Sisters: Bernice White of Chicago, IL, Ethel Williams of Memphis, TN, Barbara Swinson of Rockwood, TN, Brother Curtis( Evon) Jordan of Rockwood, TN, two aunts: Laura Lang of Rose Hill, MS, Mary Johnson, Indianapolis, IN, Inez Hudson of Evansville, IN; Brother-in-law Carroll McGee Sr. of Quitman, MS, son-in-law, David Floyd of Salem, AL; Special people in her life: Bossie Davidson, Jill Johnson, Mary Kilgo, Greg Love, Sr., Sam Henderson, Margie Moore, Barbara Chatman, Jackie Johnson, Bessie Carney, Rev. Erica Haigler, Evangelist Willie Mae Springs, Rev. Barbara Haigler, and a host of Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Evans Mortuary from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The funeral service will follow at 12:00pm from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary. Graveside and burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mrs. Bonnie Jean Jordan Davison.
