Martin F. Pelfrey, 80, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016, with his loving family by his side. He was born on February 20, 1936 in Rockwood, Tennessee the son of the late Martin F. Pelfrey Sr. and Amanda (Paige) Pelfrey. Martin served our country in the United States Army. He managed Fussnecker Sweepers in Springfield for over 30 years. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Daisy Pelfrey of Springfield, two sons: James Abston (fiance’ Angela) of Fairborn, and Martin Wayne (Dawna) Wells of Kettering; thirteen grandchildren: Lee (Amber), Kristy (Jason), Joe (Vanja), Travis, James (Kristin), Christopher (Sandy), Kimberly (James), Bryan (Devon), Brittany, Nikki, Tori, Haley, and Emily; 20 great grandchildren, two sisters: Betty Steele and Barbara Rucker; two brothers: Randy and Bill Pelfrey; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Abston, son, Joe Abston, and three brothers: Ray, John, and Richard. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 5-7:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. On Saturday, Family will receive Friends on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, Funeral will be held at 2:00pm in the chapel of Evans Mortuary in Rockwood, Tennessee. Interment and burial will be held at Glen Alice Cemetery Rockwood following Funeral Services. Martin was deeply loved by his family and will be sadly missed.
