Mr. Jamie Ray McCloud, age 34 passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at Alexandria I Nova Hospital in Alexandria, Virginia. Jamie was born in Crossville, Tennessee on February 17, 1980 to Terry Wayne McCloud and Roberta Kay Edington. Jamie was baptized and saved in the Church of Christ, Daysville, TN and attended Pineview Elementary and graduated from Cumberland County High School. After working in stonework and as a fireman, Jamie left his friends and family and joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he served his country bravely and formed lifelong bonds of brotherhood with those he served with. Lance Corporal Jamie R. McCloud served as Fire Team Leader, 81 mm Mortar Platoon, Mobile Assault Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division. Jamie received a medal in recognition of the bravery and courage he displayed while leading his team against enemy forces in more than 20 raids and more than 100 other combat missions that included high intensity fighting during a seven month span in 2004. Jamie was the owner of Fracture Lab MMA Wear. He combined his love of mixed martial arts (MMA) with his business and design skills in the creation of a clothing line for MMA enthusiasts. He was also writing warrior rap music for his MMA music albums. He had a great singing voice and was always the life of the party. Family was the most important thing in Jamie’s life and he went out of his way to express his appreciation and love for his large extended family. He loved coming to Tennessee to visit family, friends and neighbors. He gave smiles and hugs freely lifting spirits along the way. Jamie is preceded in death by his Father, Terry McCloud; Grandmother, Anna Lee McCloud and Grandfather, Dale DeRossett.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Evans Mortuary, Rockwood, TN. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Bro. Mike Lowery and Rev. Bobby Floyd officiating. Graveside will be Friday, July 18, 2014 in Sand Springs Cemetery, Monterey, Tennessee at 11:00 AM( EST). Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Jamie Ray McCloud.
