Mr. Curtis “Pops” Early, age 93 passed away at his home on March 30, 2016. Curtis lived a long fulfilling life. He served his Country from 1944-1946 in the U. S. Army as a First Sargent with the Company E-534th Engineer Boat and Shore Regiment, Where he fought fearlessly in World War II. He was discharged in 1946 with several Medals of Honor and Commendations. Curtis worked his whole life starting with the Railroad for several years and retired from the City of Rockwood Water, Gas, and Street Departments with 30 years of service.
Curtis lived his life to the fullest until the end. He had Many Friends in the Rockwood Community, he never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by Wife: Mildred Fickey Early.

Arrangements are as Follows: Saturday, April 2, 2016 in the Chapel of Evans Mortuary in Rockwood, Family with receive Friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, Graveside and Interment Services will follow at 12:00 noon in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood with Rev. Charles Kelley, officiating. Full-Military Honors will be performed by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard and the U. S. Army Honor Guard.
