Mr. Larry Alford, age 70, a resident of (Lower Lick Skillet) Harriman, Tennessee passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at his residence. He was born April 1, 1943 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a member of the Caney Ford Baptist Church in Harriman and was a former member of the R.E.A.C.T. C. B. Radio Club. Mr. Alford was a retired employee with Roane County government, working as Maintenance Employee for the Roane County Court House and the Roane County Jail, and for several years as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the Roane County Highway Department, with a total of 23 years of service. He was a lifelong farmer and hard worker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Henry Alford and Thelma Lee Feezell Alford; and brother, Robert McCullean.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Funeral services will follow on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Pastor Kevin Sellers and Bro. Jeff Parrott officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
