Jo Ann (Smith) Simerly, age 81 was born on June 7, 1935 to Elsie and Victor Smith and grew up in Tennessee where he father traveled and worked for TVA. Jo was of the Christian Church Faith. In her young years she took tap and ballet and eventually opened her own dance school. Jo Ann’s School of Dance was in Knoxville and had a branch in Lenoir City. She would travel to New York with her mother and learned routines from the best and bring them back to her schools. Then she became a Navy Wife and traveled the world and met many friends. Her true passion was horses, she began playing the organ at Horse Shows. She enjoyed her favorite job and she could see all of her friends at the same time. Anyone that knew Jo understood her love for horses, and she was a Horse person. If you just walked into her house you would know that also because everything she had, had a horse on it, even her rug. She was the eternal optimist and always saw the good in everyone and everything. She loved to laugh and she loved life and had wonderful friends all along the way. A Great Mother and friends to all, we will truly miss her and cherish all the memories with her I Love you Mom and I am going to miss you.
