Mrs. Gayle Campbell Gillett, age 69, a resident of Oak Ridge, Tennessee passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge. She was born August 28, 1945 in Boston, Massachusetts. Gayle was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Gayle attended the police academy in FL, where she became the first female motorcycle officer in Miami, FL.
She continued her career in law enforcement in Oak Ridge, TN, where she served for ten years. Gayle served and protected in her personal as well as her professional life. She was known as a selfless, non-judgmental individual and an excellent listener and was of the Catholic faith. Gayle was loving, kind and generous to anyone fortunate enough to interact with her in any fashion. Gayle was involved with the care of all God’s creatures, actively in dog rescue associations and a consistent donor to animal welfare groups. She left this world a better place having given so much of herself to others as a lifetime commitment.
She was preceded in death by Mother and Father, Earl and Stella Campbell, and sister, Kyle Haney.

Daughters: Patricia Jackson-Marcum and son-in-law Wayne Marcum
Son: Michael Jackson and daughter-in-law Candice Jackson
15 Grandchildren including: Madison, Rachel, Harry and Kojak
4 Great Grandchildren
Sister: Paddy Satter
Brothers: Billy Campbell and Gary Campbell;
Step children: Don Gillett, Deb Gillett and David Gillett.
And several wonderful nieces and nephews
Cremation arrangements have been made. A private gathering and memorial service of family and friends will be held at a later date. The family requests donations of any amount be made to the ASPCA, an organization very dear to Gayle’s heart. www.aspca.org .
