Mrs. Elsie Drusilla Swafford Johnson, age 92 of Harriman, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Roane Medical Center in Harriman, Tennessee. Mrs. Johnson was born on February 18, 1923 to Obe & Bennie Swafford in Harriman, Tennessee. Mrs. Johnson was a Lifelong member of Faith Baptist Church in Harriman, Tennessee where she served the church in many capacities. Elsie was a Devoted Christian Mother, whose Life was centered around her Family. She was the Business Manager of her late husband’s Sign company; Johnson’s Signs. She loved to play the piano and sing; she found pleasure in working word puzzles and writing Children’s story. She also loved genealogy searching for the ancestry of her Family, which has been passed on to her precious family. Elsie was a Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Friend to all who knew her. Her care for her Family and Friends was what Elsie’s Life was about. Elsie was known for her love of writing and was an accomplished speller who was recognized on a State level for her achievements. She is preceded in death by Parents: Obe & Bennie Swafford; Husband: Rev. James L. Johnson; Brothers: Lewis, Cleo and Lee Swafford; Sister: Margaret Swafford Davis

8 Grandchildren: Stacy, Shila, Shanda, Shay, Dawn, Brian, Kevin, and Chris
14 Great-Grandchildren: Drew, Kambria, Madie Grace, Kaden, Emma, Josie, Scarlett, Brody, Sebastin, Spencer, Zane, Luke, Drake, and Isaac

Arrangements are as Follows: Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Chapel of Evans Mortuary, Family will receive Friends from 12:00noon to 1:30pm, Funeral will Follow at 1:30pm with Rev. Jimmy Willis, officiating. Concluding Services and Interment will follow in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, Tennessee.
