Our treasured Alma C. Wester was born in Pontotoc, MS on December 13th, 1948. She moved to Rockwood, TN as a young girl with her beloved mother Ellen and her 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Alma was a devoted wife and mother of two. Her main occupation was as a caregiver (CNA) of which she worked in several nursing facilities over a period of 29 years. She retired in 2007. Alma was also an accomplished seamstress where she did impeccable work at Kyser Roth and Bull Run in the earlier years. She made wedding attire and lavish curtains for members of her family.
Alma was a faithful member of Speights Chapel AME Zion Church of Rockwood, TN and Victory Temple Church of Lenoir City, TN. Alma was a soldier of God and never flailed in her love for Jesus Christ. She often said, just as Jesus had to suffer, so shall we in order to reap the great reward of salvation. And now, she has reaped and the harvest shall begin.
Alma was a kind-hearted and loving person who would give the coat off her back to someone in need. Even when their intentions were for naught, she gave selflessly. Alma was one of a kind. She was truly a treasure; a treasured gem to family, friends, and strangers alike. Oh how much she will be missed, but what is even greater than that, is her reception into the gates of Heaven. The father has called his angel and she has answered the call. Never to have worried, suffered, or feared again. Now she is where she is supposed to be.

And he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in my infirmities, in reproaches, in hardships, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
