Mrs. Jean Smith Roberts, age 94 of Rockwood, Tennessee passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017.
Jean S. Roberts of Rockwood passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28th, at her home .She was born in Harriman to Walter B. and Jeanetta Mae Smith. Jean was graduated from Harriman High School and moved to Rockwood where she met and married Hubert F. Roberts, who predeceased her. They owned and operated H.F. Roberts Texaco for many years. They were the parents of two children, David and Susan Roberts Beck, both of whom are deceased. She is survived by David’s children, Elizabeth Otte and Katy Roberts, and two great grandchildren Tori and Logan Otte, of Memphis. Jean had one brother, Wallace Smith of Harriman and three sisters, Oba Prim of Florida, Vivian Yeary of Harriman, and Ona Rice of Signal Mt. who predeceased her and one brother, Dr. Walter Douglas Smith of Florence South Carolina, and one sister Glenna Feller of Signal Mt. who survive her. She also leaves a number of neices and nephews to cherish her memory and to cherish the many happy hours spent at their lake cabin near Eagle Lodge which they so generously shared with them. A longtime member of First Baptist Church of Rockwood, she sang in the choir in earlier years and planned many trips for the Victory Group.
Arrangements are as Follows: Tuesday, May 2, 2017 Family will meet at 11:00am at Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, Tennessee for Graveside Services and Interment with Rev. Marty Shadoan, officiating.
At 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 Family and Friends will gather at First Baptist Church in Rockwood for a Memorial Service, Rev. Marty Shadoan, officiating
